Title: "Sydney At Four".

Graphite on paper 8.5"x11.5"  Dated: Sept 2000
Sometimes I see a picture of a person and immediately feel compelled to draw it. This is what happened with this drawing.

While in Florida for my mother's 80th birthday, we were gathered at my brother Ken and his wife Jeri's home. In the den, on the desk beside their computer, I saw a photograph of their granddaughter Sydney. I knew she was a pretty girl from other photographs. This picture of her instantly captivated me. I couldn't resist repeatedly going back and studying the picture of this four year old girl who looked much older to me. Before leaving, I used my electronic camera to take photos of the photo. I created this drawing from these photos of a photo.
