Windy today & tomorrow: 20-30 mph. Not good for making progress on my preparations. Suspect I am going to have to re-consider my departure date.

Because of my limited experience in towing large trailers, I wanted to leave on a Sunday when city traffic would be light, especially in Tuscon and El Paso, but I may have to compromise on that and leave on a week day. Not a big deal. I made it across country with the travel trailer, and it's 38 feet long vs. 24 for the flat bed.

Despite winds I managed to get a fair amount of work done today. Emptied the rain water out of the collector. At least it works and collects water without leaking.

Did some more work on the inside of the Nano-Ark door and put the weather proofing trim around it. I still need to paint that.

I took on one big job of finishing painting the top coat on about half the exterior. This despite strong winds that kept trying to blow me off the ladder or the ladder over. After getting about half done with that job, I was in an especially open area, the winds had picked up to nearly 30 mph and being on the 12 foot ladder was too exposed to the buffeting winds. So I quit for the day at about 4 PM.

Rest of the day has been devoted to exercising and mentally rehearsing the trip and what I need to take and especially what I need to purchase.

I noticed the truck was nearing 35,000 miles when it will need servicing. Plus, it's not been serviced since I bought it over 6 months ago. It's going to be windy again tomorrow, so I will put that time to productive use by taking the truck in for service and shopping for stuff I'll need to finish fabrication and for the trip.
